She’ll discuss her 40th album, “First Came Memphis Minnie.”  This CD features the music of the Queen of the Delta Blues, Memphis Minnie, as interpreted by some of today’s top female blues artists, including Bonnie Raitt, the late great Phoebe Snow, Koko Taylor and Ms. Muldaur herself.

No one wrote songs like Memphis Minnie. From the great depression in the 30′s through the end of World War II, her songs were portraits of her time, often bawdy and gritty.  Minnie was a woman ahead of her time, writing and singing her own songs, as well as one of first women to play blues guitar.

In this interview, Devon Allman confesses that he’s a romantic at heart, and that his personal life is an inspiration for his music.  He also explains how working on a solo project like “Turquoise” is different from performing as part of the band he’s currently touring with, Royal Southern Brotherhood.

Phil recently returned from an engagement in Clearwater, Florida with a stage production of the “The BBC Murders.” Based on stories written by Agatha Christie and adapted by Judith Walcutt and David Ossman (another member of The Firesign Theatre). Phil appeared in multiple roles, including the famous Belgium detective Hercule Poirot.  Others in the cast included Gary Sandy (WKRP) and Phil’s wife, Melinda Peterson, in the role of Agatha Christie.

On the podcast posted below, Phil Proctor shares behind-the-scenes stories about his role as a villain in the CW TV show based on the Green Arrow DC comics, “Arrow.” He has also recently reprised his role as evil Dr. Warren Vidic in the hit video game Assassin’s Creed III.

Celebrity Chef Rick Bayless’ Red O Hosts an Extended Happy Hour–Rick Bayless, the winner of Season One of Top Chef Masters and host of the long-running PBS series Mexico: One Plate at a Time, will extend the Street Food Social Hour for an Oscar viewing party at his Los Angeles restaurant, Red O.  The menu for the Oscar viewing party on Sunday, includes $2 oysters, classic guacamole, taquitos, corn masa quesadillas and plantain sopes.
