Just in time for your summer party or barbeque, “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight” has a hour of summertime entertainment for your listening enjoyment.
Carolyn Fox’s special guest this week is guitarist, bass player and songwriter Susan Surftone. This Gidget with a guitar discusses her evolving surf rock style as heard on her latest CD, “Shore,” why she left a career in espionage with the FBI to pursue her music, and the use of the exotic theremin on her latest video, “Rock Candy.”
You’ll also hear music from The Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, Katy Perry, Geoffrey Leigh Tozer, The Drifters, Alice Cooper, Larkin McLean, and Will Smith.

Hello Carolyn,
Fun listening to your interview with Susan Surftone. I didn’t know about her stint in the FBI, fascinating. Cool to hear the small segment about the Theremin. I had so much fun playing with Susan on Rock Candy. She’s a great surf, rock musician. If you can swing it, you should come to Portland to see the August 17 show with Susan Surftone, WaveSauce, and others from the new comp CD. We’d love to see you. Perhaps do a live segment… Keep up the great spotlights. I’m looking forward to listening often and catching up on a few I’ve missed.
Cheers,
Michele “Cookie” Heile
Hi Michele (or do you prefer “Cookie?”),
I’m so glad you enjoyed the Summer Beach Party Special featuring my interview with Susan Surftone. She’s a great surf rocker and your an amazing Theremin player, yourself. Wonderful to hear you collaborate on “Rock Candy.”
Thank you for the invitation to the WaveSauce show on August 17th. Don’t know if my schedule will permit, but I’d love to see you both live, and perhaps do a remote for my radio show, “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight.”
Thanks again,
Carolyn
