Midnight Tonight–New Music & Interview with Brian Lopez

Tonight, “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight” will host an interview with special guest Brian Lopez.  This syndicated broadcast radio show, which airs in Los Angeles at midnight on 1580 AM, will open with tracks from Brian’s first full-length album, “Ultra.”

To say that Tucson’s Brian Lopez is a well rounded musician is an understatement.  He earned a degree in music composition on a classical guitar scholarship.  Within the last couple of years, he’s played with his own rock band, toured Europe as the guitarist and back up vocalist for French chanteuse Marianne Dissard, played with a mambo band, and toured with Howe Gelb and his band Giant Sand.

Brain continues his exploration into a wide variety of musical styles on his new CD, “Ultra.”  You’ll hear a well-crafted blend of musical cultures and techniques.  However, as he is quick to point out, there are no “electronic tricks,” like synthesizers or midi, used in this music.  Even the atmospherics are recordings of natural sounds or created with musical instruments.

To hear Brian Lopez’s music and interview, tune your radio to 1580 AM tonight at midnight in Los Angeles, for “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight.”
