Phil Proctor, the world-famous actor who has lent his remarkable talent to Pixar films, including “Toy Story” and “Monsters Inc.,” a two-time Grammy nominee, as well as a member of the classic-rock comedy group The Firesign Theater, joined Carolyn Fox in the studio this week to catch up and read an original comedic mystery story titled “Peter Bergman and the Calendar of Doom.” This piece, which will air soon on the syndicated broadcast radio show, “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight,” will delight Firesign fans, as well as anyone who enjoys humor, mystery and a good story with a twist.
In March of this year Peter Bergman, another member of the Firesign Theater, passed away. The surviving members of the comedy troupe, including Phil, organized a tribute for Peter. Among other projects, Phil is now working on finalizing a version of the Tribute to Peter Bergman for the those who couldn’t attend the event. Peter’s fondest wish was that his daughter, Lily, have the opportunity to attend college and earn a degree. A charitable fund was created so Peter’s fans and friends could help make that happen. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Tribute to Peter Bergman will be donated to The Lily Bergman College Fund.
The episode of “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight“ featuring Phil’s new, funny, mysterious story, “Peter Bergman and the Calendar of Doom” will air on the radio later this month. Stay tuned for more details.
