This week on “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight” award-winning singer Gina Saputo was our special in-studio guest.
Gina is an amazing jazz singer, who was one of only 7 musicians to be invited to be part of The Thelonious Monk Institute, which not only included training from Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter and Terence Blanchard, but also a good-will tour to Viet Nam, celebrating 10 years of peace.
Having made the transition from student to teacher, Gina now has her own vocal studio where she works one-on-one with up and coming singers.
Her latest CD is “Live at the Omni,” which was co-produced with vintage sound expert Gary Faust. She hasn’t yet released the album commercially, but it is available at her live performances around Los Angeles. You can see the impressive list of her local appearances at GinaSaputo.com
Other artists you’ll hear on this edition of “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight” include Bruce Springsteen, Eileen Carey, Paul Mark and the Van Dorens, John Lee Hooker, Jr., Laurie Melan, Ray Charles, Michael Koppy, and Allen Toussaint.
