Mardi Gras on the Air Tonight in Los Angeles

Screen shot 2012-02-03 at 3.16.50 PMIn just a few hours (midnight, to be exact) the syndicated broadcast radio show, “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight” will host its annual Mardi Gras Special.

Our special guest is Lisa Haley, of Lisa Haley & the Zydecats. This Louisiana girl is the real deal, with a step-father who was a cajun accordion player who moved the family to Los Angeles.  Lisa plays her famous blue fiddle, with a rich repertoire of cajun and zydeco music, including many original songs.

Lisa HaleyLisa will be playing a several Mardi Gras shows, including one at 6 PM tomorrow night, Saturday at the Farmers Market in Hollywood, and on Fat Tuesday itself, Feb. 12, she’ll be at Ragin’ Cajun Mardi Gras at the Amalfi Restaurant at 143 N. La Brea Ave. at Beverly and West 1st St. with Chef Steven Domingue.

The party starts tonight on your radio with the broadcast of “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight.”  In Los Angeles, tune your dial to 1580 AM at midnight to hear a selection of American music celebrating New Orleans and the Mardi Gras tradition.  This special will also air tomorrow, Saturday Feb. 9, at 6 PM in Annapolis/Baltimore on 810 AM and on Sunday, Feb. 10 on the show’s website at CFoxRocks.com.
