Happy Mardi Gras! Let the good times roll!
The syndicated broadcast radio show, “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight” brings you a special Mardi Gras broadcast. Carolyn’s guest is Grammy-nominated artist Lisa Haley & the Zydekats. A Louisiana girl, she plays both cajun and zydeco, raising the roof with her blue fiddle and rhythms that invite listeners to get up and dance.
You’ll also hear some new tracks from Stevie DuPree and the Delta Flyers and Ian Siegal and the Mississippi Mudbloods, as well as classic Mardi Gras tunes from New Orleans icons, Dr. John and Professor Longhair. You’ll also hear music from Maria Muldar, Randy Newman, Paul Simon, Anders Osborne, Lil’ Queenie & the Percolators, Carol Fran, Kermit Ruffins and the Barbecue Swingers.
If you’re in Los Angeles and looking for a place to celebrate Fat Tuesday, you can dine on cajun food from Chef Steven Domingue when he takes over the Amalfi Restaurant with live music from Louisiana girl, Lisa Haley & the Zydekats. You can join the parade at Amoeba Music on Sunset–bring your musical instrument and play “When the Saints Go Marching in.” Or party at the Federal Bar in North Hollywood and enjoy beignets, jambalaya and a peel & eat crawfish boil to the sound of Catahoula.
Of course, you can host your own party. The podcast below of “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight” could be your soundtrack:
