Amoeba Music in Hollywood– Starting at 3 PM on Tuesday, Feb. 17th, party with a musicians, beads and music. The party is free, and a portion of the days receipts will be donated to two charities that benefit New Orleans: Tipitina’s Foundation and The New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic. Bring your horn or percussion and at 4 PM, join their parade.
‘Laissez Les Bons Temps Roulez’ at Harold & Belle’s–This creole restaurant has been a purveyor of New Orleans cuisine in Los Angeles since 1969. You’ll find filé gumbo, charbroiled oysters, crawfish étouffée and classic jambalaya any day, but on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 17, hurricane cocktails are half price. Come in the afternoon, and stay for when the outdoor block party kicks off at 5 PM.
