Tribute to Songwriter Allen Toussaint Tonight on LA Radio

Screen shot 2015-11-13 at 2.27.37 PMAllen Toussaint had a musical career like no other. For decades he wrote the songs that became number one hits. A New Orleans original, Toussaint’s songs have been covered by almost any artist you can name.

Saddened by the news of his recent passing (he was 77 years old), tonight the syndicated broadcast radio show, “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight” honors the late, great Allen Toussaint. Every song on the show was written by and some are performed by, Mr. Toussaint himself.

You’ll hear tunes performed by Bonnie Raitt, Warren Zevon, Boz Scaggs, Glen Campbell, Maria Muldaur, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss, Irma Thomas, Lee Dorsey, and Robert Palmer.

Tune your radio to 1580 AM tonight in the Greater Los Angeles area, to hear this special edition of “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight,” honoring Allen Toussaint. In the Baltimore/Annapolis area, tune to WYRE on 810 AM at 6 PM tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 14, and any where in the world, hear the podcast online here at this blog starting Monday, Nov. 16.
