This week on “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight,” the emphasis was on “Hollywood.”
Carolyn Fox interviews a couple of special guests in the studio about what it takes to be a successful actor in Hollywood. Tamra Meskimen, who’s work you may have seen on “One Life to Live” or “Arliss, is one of the founders of The Acting Center of Los Angeles. She is joined in the studio by her her husband, the impressionist and comedian Jim Meskimen, who is known for the viral JibJab videos and his work in movies and TV. Tamra and Jim divulge the importance of improv in helping actors win auditions and book jobs. With a special method that builds the actor’s confidence and skills, they explain what it takes to create and maintain a successful career.
You can catch Jim live on stage Saturday, July 21 at 8 PM when he’ll star in his one-man show “Jimpressions.” at The Acting Center. The night Carolyn saw this outrageous show, the theater was sold-out and Jim made the audience ache with laughter.
Also on this week’s radio show, you’ll hear great music from Sting, Bonnie Raitt, and composer of music for movies and TV, Laurie Melan, plus other terrific artists.
