Jonathan Spottiswoode This Friday on Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight

You may know him as the leader of the 7-piece rock band Spottiswoode and His Enemies, or as half of the provocatively named duo “S&M” (Spottiswoode & McMahon).  This Friday at midnight on “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight,” our special guest is Jonathan Spottiswoode, a most creative English musician, singer and songwriter.

Spottiswoode embraces a wide range of  instrumentation, mood, and musical style. Take Spottiswoode & His Enemies’ latest album, “Wild Goosechase Expedition” as a case in point.  The entire album works together as a whole, tracking the journey of a rock band on tour–which Spottiswoode calls a “documentary.”  But each of the songs are unique, from the upbeat pop track “Beautiful Monday” to the psychedelic “Purple River, Yellow Sun” and the humorous “I’d Even Follow You to Philadelphia.”

To hear this special interview with Spottiswoode as well as his music, tune into “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight” on your radio at 1580 AM in Los Angeles Friday, Aug. 24 at midnight, and at 810 AM in Annapolis/Baltimore at 6 PM on Saturday, Aug. 25.
