Tribute to Songwriter Allen Toussaint Tonight on LA Radio

Screen shot 2015-11-13 at 2.27.37 PMAllen Toussaint had a musical career like no other. For decades he wrote the songs that became number one hits. A New Orleans original, Toussaint’s songs have been covered by almost any artist you can name.

Saddened by the news of his recent passing (he was 77 years old), tonight the syndicated broadcast radio show, “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight” honors the late, great Allen Toussaint. Every song on the show was written by and some are performed by, Mr. Toussaint himself.

You’ll hear tunes performed by Bonnie Raitt, Warren Zevon, Boz Scaggs, Glen Campbell, Maria Muldaur, Robert Plant, Alison Krauss, Irma Thomas, Lee Dorsey, and Robert Palmer.

Tune your radio to 1580 AM tonight in the Greater Los Angeles area, to hear this special edition of “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight,” honoring Allen Toussaint. Happy Halloween!The Halloween Special broadcast on the syndicated radio show “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight” is now online. Just click on the link at the end of this post!

The show features an interview with special guest Kyle Branche, bartender to the stars and author of “Life Behind Bars, Vignettes Over Cocktails” sharing his experiences pouring spirits at some of Los Angeles haunted venues. You’ll also hear horror writer Kevin Sweeney, author of “From the Blood of Cain” discuss how to masterfully spin a yarn of dark terror and suspense.

As always, “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight” is about the music. Carolyn plays Halloween tunes to get you into a monstrous rocking mood.

Halloween Special on "Carolyn Fox's Hollywood Spotlight"Tonight at midnight, the witching hour, turn your radio to 1580 AM to hear a special Halloween edition of the syndicated broadcast radio show, “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight.”

The show will feature special guest Kyle Branche, Bartender to the Stars, and author of “Life Behind Bars: Stories and Encounters: Vignettes over Cocktails.” Kyle shares stories about some of the famously haunted locations around Los Angeles.

Kyle Branche and Carolyn Fox in the StudioPlus, we have an interview with horror writer Kevin Sweeney, author of “From the Blood of Cain.” Come with us to the dark side, to hear how a master of horror weaves suspense and dread.

Tonight award-winning composer and DJ Roby R and neo-soul singer-songwriter Angelique Music will be our special guests on the syndicated broadcast radio show, “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight.”

Roby R and Angelique have just released “Dance Now,” a hit song with a driving dance beat. You may have read about it in the current issue of Rolling Stone Magazine, or seen their music video on “MTV Party Zone.”

Hear Country Pop Singer Eileen Carey on LA Radio Tonight

Eileen CareyAward-winning singer-songwriter Eileen Carey will be our special guest tonight on the syndicated broadcast radio show, “Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight” tonight in Los Angeles County and most of Orange County. In addition to sharing the inspiration for her music, Eileen and John McDuffie will sing and play some of their favorite tunes in the studio.

You can hear Eileen Carey live tomorrow night, Saturday, July 25 at “Whiskers in the Whiskers in the MoonlightMoonlight,” a charity music event to benefit FixNation. The event is from 7 pm to 10 pm at Autry National Center located at 4700 Western Heritage Way, Los Angeles, CA 90027. You might have seen Erin doing stand up at the Comedy Store, or caught her cabaret show at the House of Blues on Sunset. Erin will also sing the theme song and be featured on camera in the upcoming Italian film “La Bataglia di Gorthene.”
