Tonight, Macy Gray and Mardi Gras in October on LA Radio

It may be unseasonable, but it’s always the right time to celebrate Mardi Gras.  So tonight on Carolyn Fox’s Hollywood Spotlight we have a tremendous array of guests with music and stories about”Fat Tuesday.”

Grammy winner, Macy Gray will give an interview from her bathtub about her fabulous new CD, “Covered.”  On this album, Macy sings an eclectic collection of cover tracks, from the Eurythmics “Here Comes the Rain Again,” to Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters,” Colbie Cailatt’s “Bubbly” and Kanye West’s “Love Lockdown.”

Maria Muldaur of “Midnight at the Oasis” fame, has made an average of one new album each year ever since her megahit from the 70s.  In her appearance on the show, she’ll discuss why she recorded her CD, “Steady Love”in New Orleans (her musical and spiritual home) and why, on this CD, she took a break from her exploration of vintage blue to record what she plays live; a modern, electric blues.

Sugar Blue is probably best known as the harmonica player with the signature riff on The Rolling Stones’ hit “Miss You” from their “Some Girls” CD.  Sugar shares the story of how he met The Rolling Stones in Paris and was invited into the studio to record with them.  Sugar grew up with music, as his mother was a singer at the legendary Cotton Club who brought home friends like Billie Holliday to meet young Sugar.  You’ll hear music from his new CD, Threshold.

Tune into 1580 AM tonight at midnight in Los Angeles and hear what’s hot in Hollywood. Visit CFoxRocks.com to learn more about the show, and subscribe to our RSS feed to hear our podcasts.  Let the good times roll.
